Our Lady of Perpetual Help is one of the most famous icons of the Virgin Mary. It is an adaptation (by addition of the crown) of the original Greek icon of the Virgin of Passions. It is referred to as the Virgin of Passions because the Christ Child sees the angels holding the instruments of His Passion - the Cross and Lance.
